Ann Marie Singh: October 2018 Member of the Month

Caffeinated CrossFit, Smyrna, GA

Ann Marie can always be found before or after the 5:30 PM class stretching, or working on extra credit to improve her form. She always has a smile on for her fellow athletes and embraces feedback from coaches on her form. She takes her workout regimen seriously, seldom missing a day. We voted Ann Marie as our member of the month for her drive to “embrace the suck” in class, her consistency attending classes, and her dedication to constantly improve her form.

(Q)  How long have you been at Caffeinated CrossFit? (A) Over a year

(Q)  What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit?  (A) Love to cook, I prepare all my meals and rarely eat out

 (Q)  What is your biggest achievement so far?  (A) finally being able to accomplish a modicum of the clean and snatch

(Q)  What are your future goals?  (A) mastering the olympic lifts; losing body fat; and lifting heavier

(Q)  Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey?  (A) Sign up for class and show up every time; become comfortable with being uncomfortable

(Q)  Favorite Cheat Meal.  (A) Any rice dish; European chocolate

(Q)  CrossFit Secret:  (A) When I joined last year I was literally scared of the programming; it was very intimidating; I was not confident  I could keep up or even do the wods; now I embrace the suck

(Q)  On Rest Days: (A) binge on Netflix or Amazon prime shows

(Q)  Who is your box buddy? (A) Most of my original buddies have left; I embrace my buddies in the 5:30 pm classes

 Coach Jess says, “Not only is she a dedicated athlete focused on improving her form and self, she’s a lot of fun to have in class. I always know we’re going to have a good class with some System of a Down and pushing limits when I see Ann Marie signed up! She’s a bad ass. “

Coach Christine comments, “It’s a good day when I get a text from Ann Marie about how she particularly liked the programming that day. She is always open to feedback and when given, she spends time and focus to really make sure that good technique is integrated and reflected in every following rep. I really enjoy taking and coaching classes with Ann Marie!”
