David Aird, July 2017 Member of the Month
Caffeinated CrossFit, Smyrna, GA.
Aird!!! What can we say about this special guy! He was our first member before we even really opened our doors. His genuine sincerity and aloofness brings a special kind of energy to everyone around him. We got to know him through a mutual friend and he jumped right in with our Caffeinated family even with an abnormal schedule and we are blessed that we can call him a friend.
Some fun facts about David:
(Q) How long have you been at Caffeinated CrossFit? (A) I was the first Caffeinated CrossFit member, so 2 years now.
(Q) What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit? (A) I love to travel, play and watch hockey (Detroit Red Wings), hiking, watching college football (University of Michigan), going to concerts \ music festivals, being a movie extra, anything on the water or outdoors and just hanging out with friends.
(Q) What is your biggest achievement so far? (A) Completing Murph.
(Q) What are your future goals? (A) Completing Murph with a vest and Muscle ups.
(Q) Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? (A) Don't be intimidated by the word Crossfit. You have to start somewhere. Ask questions and don't be afraid to push yourself to new limits. Find a box that makes you feel like family. I love our Owl Family.
(Q) Who is your box buddy? (A) Christine ( I think we have time for 2 more workouts) Chuang Lee and Mary Hollis.
(Q) CrossFit Secret. (A) You don't have to be better than the person next to you in the box. Just be better than yourself the day before. And keep striving every day to better than the day before. I love the sense of accomplishment every time I finish a WOD.
(Q) Favorite Cheat Meal. (A) Moms homemade baked lasagna.

"Aird has a special place in my heart and at CCF. As the first member of Caffeinated CrossFit, and a long time workout buddy I can honestly say he embodies the attitude and heart of every Caffeinated CrossFit athlete. No matter what terrible workout I throw at him, he takes it and runs with it. If I say “Let’s farmer carry for a mile in the pouring rain!” his response is, “how much weight?”
My favorite moment was trying to “trick” him into doing Murph. The conversation went something like this:
Aird: What workout are we doing today?
Me: I was thinking of starting with a mile run
Aird: Okay. Then what?
Me: Then going into 100 Pull ups.
Aird: Ouch. What next?
Me: 200 push ups…
Aird: Wait, is this Murph?!
Me: Oh, you know that one? Heheh…Yeah! That one!
Aird: Let me go grab my knee sleeves.
